Welcome!

If your litters were registered with the HHBC you would have their papers by now…

  • No forms to mail in; everything is done online.*
  • Very fast turnaround. Provide the papers with the piglets when your customer comes to your farm.
  • Lowest cost of any registry. Free transfer to HHBC.
  • Choose your method of ID: Tags, notches, tattoos, photos (for hogs with unique markings).
  • Free inbreeding analysis for member herds and potential additions.
  • Common sense standards that meet or exceed that of other registries.

By the way, if you are buying a piglet, never leave without proof of registration! Choose a breeder who registers their herd with the HHBC so you don’t fall into the “waiting for the papers” group. When your litters are born, register them with the HHBC and be a smart, responsive breeder! Your customers will thank you.

Large Blacks on pastureThe Heritage Hog Breeders Clubis dedicated to the wonderful, rare breeds of hogs that we in America call “heritage hogs” and to the great people who make them a part of their lives. Thank you for visiting!

In this website you can learn about these breeds, what makes them special and unique, and the people that are spending their money, sweat, time and emotions keeping these breeds healthy and in our world. We provide an easy to use, inexpensive registry so that breeders can register their herds and lots of advice to small farmers on how to obtain, raise and manage their hogs. We also know that, unless we get more people interested in raising these breeds, they may disappear altogether in our part of the world. So we help small farmers market and sell their hogs to customers; helping to spread the breeds across the land and create new markets. Our goal is to get these breeds to the point where they will never again be called “rare”.

The HHBC is a nationally recognized registry for heritage hogs. We are the registry of choice for:

  • Gloucestershire Old Spots
  • Mulefoot Hogs
  • American Guinea Hogs
  • Tamworth
  • Hereford
  • Certified Heritage Pork Herds

Please help our efforts by supporting our members or by becoming a member yourself and registering your herds.

* In most cases we can accept copies of registration forms uploaded through this website. On rare occasions we may need to see the actual registration form. The integrity of our registry is critical so we take steps when needed to verify the authenticity of pedigrees.
